The W902 is the flagship of the three new devices, and sports exciting features such a an 8GB memory card in the sales package, HSDPA support, a 240 x 320 pixel TFT LCD and a 5mpx digital camera.
Although the handset only has 25MB of internal shared memory the sales package includes an 8GB Memory Stick Micro card. A 5mpx auto focus digital camera is positioned on the back of the W902 for recording video and capturing still images. There is an LED flash for low light settings, up to 16x digital zoom, image stabilisation functionality, BestPic, and support for direct picture and video blogging.

The W902 supports GSM 850, 900, 1800, and 1900MHz 2G networks with additional support for the UMTS 2100MHz band. GPRS and EDGE protocols are supported on the 2G network bands with UMTS and HSDPA on the 3G band for smooth streaming video and fast web downloads. An Access NetFront web browser is pre-installed for Internet browsing.

For local connectivity there is Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0. Transferring large batches of MP3’s and moving data to and from the handset is as easy as drag & drop with support for the USB Mass Storage Device profile. And if your printer supports it, the W902 can be plugged directly in for printing of high quality shots.

Additional features include a stereo FM radio with RDS technology, PIM applications including an organiser, Java application environment with 3D support, and out of the box support for Exchange ActiveSync e-mail services.

In a recent test in Germany by TESTfactory* the W902 was rated “best audio experience,” alongside the soon to be released W890.
